About Sennichimae Doguyasuji Shopping Street About
From the kitchen of Japan to the world. A city of tools where food and craftsmanship come alive.
From ancient times, Kamigata (the Kyoto-Osaka region) has been known as the "Nation's Kitchen" and "Eat 'til you drop."
Behind this are the chefs who have continuously honed their taste and skills, and the chefs in the kitchen who train their minds and pursue the pinnacles of professionalism. Tempered by taste and time, a rich culture of food and entertainment has been nurtured in this land.
The foundation of such a culture lies in a selection of tools chosen with the professional user's convenience as the top priority, and the proven expertise that has consistently met their needs. Herein lies the reason why these products have been beloved by professionals for many years. Please enjoy choosing your own exquisite items, even in your home kitchen. New Year's Tool Market
The New Year's Tool Market is an annual event held on Doguyasuji Street, timed to coincide with Toka Ebisu. Doguyasuji Street also serves as the approach to Imamiya Ebisu Shrine, and many people visit carrying lucky bamboo branches to pray for business prosperity. During the event, there is a special offer where those who bring their bamboo branches will receive a Doguyasuji original ema (votive tablet), allowing visitors to express their New Year's wishes. It's a New Year's event that allows you to enjoy the lively atmosphere unique to a shrine approach and discover new tools.

Doguyasuji Shopping Street Original Brand "Tsunagu"
To pass on the “skills and culture” that live within cooking utensils to the next generation, we have launched our original brand, "絆具-TSUNAGU-."
This brand was created with the aim of passing on to the future the wisdom that professional chefs have cultivated over many years and the skills of toolmaking that artisans have continued to protect.
At "Kizuna-TSUNAGU-", we offer tools that are meticulously crafted with a focus on materials and techniques, including 1mm hammered frying pans, Ariake lantern signs, bronze pots, Osaka Naniwa tinware Reiko, Kando pots, and natural whetstones. These are not just cooking utensils; they are elements that connect people to people, culture to technique, and the past to the future through cooking. Doguyasuji continues to disseminate new value both domestically and internationally as a place for inheriting techniques and sentiments.

It has been certified by Guinness World Records as the "World's Largest Taiyaki."
On October 13, 2013, Sennichimae Doguyasuji in Osaka attempted to create the "World's Largest Taiyaki (by weight of a single taiyaki)," and it was successfully certified by Guinness World Records.
The Guinness World Record is as follows.
“The largest taiyaki weighs 11.58 kg (25 lb 8 oz) and was created by Sennichimae Doguyasuji Shopping District (Japan) in Osaka, Osaka, Japan, on October 13, 2013.”
Through this initiative, Doguyasuji has expanded its appeal beyond being just "a place that deals with tools" to a place of experiences and lasting memories. While valuing surprise and playfulness, we continue to communicate with visitors from both within Japan and abroad. We sincerely thank everyone who cooperated and participated. Please look forward to our future challenges.

We jointly exhibited at the MOBAC SHOW 2025.
We exhibited jointly with the Kansai Confectionery and Bakery Kitchen Equipment Cooperative at "MOBAC SHOW 2025" (Tuesday, February 18, 2025 - Friday, February 21, 2025, at INTEX Osaka). At the venue, various shops and manufacturers that make up Doguyasuji, including cutlery makers, glassware, and metalware, gathered, and we also introduced our original brand "TSUNAGU." Visitors experienced the charm of the fusion of the latest food equipment and tool culture. Moving forward, Doguyasuji will continue to broadly promote its technology and culture through "tools" both domestically and internationally.

The first in a shopping district! The fusion of real and virtual, VR Douguya-suji Shopping Street
As foot traffic to shopping streets decreased due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Sennichimae Doguyasuji launched "VR Doguyasuji Shopping Street," a community space utilizing the virtual reality platform "DOOR (provided by NTT QONOQ)" as part of Osaka Prefecture's Charm Creation Project. This is a new initiative aimed at promoting the shopping street, attracting visitors, and increasing its recognition.
At VR Douguya-suji Shopping Street, you can enjoy conversations with real shopkeepers and explore the shopping street with friends who are in different locations.
Entering through the main monument of Doguyasuji, "Michi" (Road), it is reproduced with the same shop layout as the actual shopping street, allowing you to experience it as if you were actually visiting the location.
