What is the "Doguyasuji Maidoren"?

Based on the concept of "Maido Ookini!" (Thank you always!), this team was formed in 2000, centered around members of the Sennichimae Doguyasuji Shopping Street, to liven up the city through the "Yosakoi Naruko Dance." Today, with the cooperation of members from surrounding shopping streets, volunteers, and students, a group of about 25 members ranging from their 20s to 60s joyfully and energetically performs dances at events in various locations.

What is the "Yosakoi dance"?

It is a style of dance based on Kochi Prefecture's Yosakoi Festival, where dancers basically hold noise-making tools called naruko in both hands and dance while clicking them together.

Activity Report

We perform mainly at events within Osaka City, such as the "Nigiwai Square," "Doguyasuji Festival," and "Midosuji Festa."

Recruiting members for the "Doguyasuji Maidoren" main team!!

We are looking for members to join the "Doguyasuji Shopping Street Maidoren." Composed of a wide range of ages—from junior high school students to middle-aged and older adults—everyone gets along, has fun, and brings great energy through dancing! Whether you work in the Doguyasuji Shopping Street or not, you are more than welcome! If you are interested, just coming to watch is fine, so please feel free to contact us.

Yosakoi dance is a dance that people of all ages can come together and enjoy as one. The Doyamachisuji Maido-ren has formed a kids' team centered around elementary school students. Please come and see the energetic kids' team perform their Yosakoi dance!
